About UnboundCard
UnboundCard is run by Harry Ryder, a UK-based engineer who has used ether.fi Cash as a primary spending card for 12 months. This site exists because there is no honest, nomad-focused resource on which crypto card is actually worth using in SE Asia. Every existing comparison piece either reads like a press release or is two years out of date.
What this site does
Compare crypto and fintech cards on the dimensions nomads actually care about: account-closure risk, FX markup, ATM fees, cashback that you can spend, and whether the card works without a permanent address. Then walk through what using each card looks like in specific SE Asia destinations — Bali, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and beyond.
How this site makes money
Affiliate commissions. When you click a "Get the card" button and sign up, ether.fi pays a recurring commission on your spend. This does not change what you pay, and it does not change which card I recommend — I recommend the one that wins on the merits for the use case at hand.
What I will not do
- Hide affiliate links or pretend the site is neutral. Every page that contains an affiliate link discloses it.
- Recommend a card I have not personally used or rigorously researched.
- Bury the cons. Every card has trade-offs; you will find them listed.
- Update fee figures less than once a quarter. Fintech terms change; outdated numbers are how comparison sites lose trust.
